Do you think we will have another cold winter with a lot of snow as we have in many years in the past?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:       Brandon,      Snowfall across central North Carolina has always tended to be episodic, with a few years or strings of years with several moderate to large snow events interspersed with years or strings of years with little and in a few cases no measurable snow. Assuming this continues to be the case, we are likely to have some snowy winters on occasion. Unfortunately there is no clear way to look far ahead and know which years will produce a lot of snow. There is some potential that if global average temperatures continue to climb over the long term, that the frequency of snowy winters might decline, but there is no way to be certain about that for now, since regional variations within larger scale warming remain difficult to project with confidence.
