What is the warmest region in NC? This is a question for my daughter.

MIKE MOSS SAYS:     Brac,   When it comes to annual average mean temperature, there is a broad area across the Sandhills and southern and eastern Coastal Plain that works out to have the warmest readings across the state. If you look more specifically at average annual maximum temperature, the warmest pockets are across the southern Coastal Plain. There are contour maps that you can explore in more depth showing the distribution of minimum, maximum and mean temperatures across the state, by month and for the year as a whole, located on the State Climate Office web site at
