How do you tell if the barometer is rising?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:    Jessie,    A rising barometer indicates increasing atmospheric surface pressure. So, if you track the pressure value being reported by a fixed barometer over time, increasing values indicate a rising barometer, decreasing values a falling barometer and unchanged values a steady barometer.
