I cannot get your doppler500 radar in the 0ne hour loop, only in the still. Is this my computer or a problem with your programing?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:   Michael,  as far as I can tell the looping feature is working properly. One thing you may want to check is that you have Flash Player on your system and enabled, as that is what our site uses to display the loops. You can get the latest version of the player at

I have a curious question for the meteorologists: We have a boat on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake Virginia. Many times in the summer there is a curious phenonomem. Normally with high pressure building in, fair weather, and a very calm day; when the sun sets, the winds start picking up from the south, sweep across the main channel [1 mile wide), and slam the boats at the dock with 4 ft waves. It starts small at sunset and steadily increases to about 2am where it rapidly subsides and becomes very calm. There is a small mountain (about 1500 ft tall) on the south border of the channel. I was wondering if there is a meteorogical explanation? Thanks, Craig Jones -- mcraig.jones@verizon.net
