mike, did your trip to iraq have anything to do with the weather or news? I am interested in the purpose of your trip.

MIKE MOSS SAYS:     Kenneth,   I am an Air Force Reservist assigned as a Staff Weather Officer for Third Army Headquarters out of Ft McPherson GA. Third Army serves as the Army component of U.S. Central Command, and in wartime as the Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC) headquarters. In 2005, I was placed on active duty for five months and deployed to the CFLCC forward command center in Kuwait, so it was a military rather than news activity. It was still very much a weather assignment, though, my job being to provide weather and climate information in support of CFLCC operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. While I was there, I did maintain a web log for WRAL during off-duty hours with photos and information on the weather over there and our activities, including some travel to other parts of Kuwait and to Baghdad. Unfortunately, the posts are no longer available online, but I do have copies of many of the entries that can be read locally in a browser if anyone would like to receive them by e-mail (assuming there aren't an awful ot of requests). If anyone is interested, just e-mail me directly at mmoss@wral.com and include "Duty Calls Blog" in the subject line.
