I looked up in the sky on Friday, March 2nd and noticed a huge white ring around the moon. I've never seen this before, and I found it fascinating! What causes this to occur?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:       Christy,      Most likely you saw a sheet of cirrus clouds producing a 22-degree halo around the moon. We ran a question about this not too long ago, which you can retrieve by typing "halo crystals" into the search box in the upper right corner of any page on our site.
