Our Nor'easter produced some pretty impressive winds along the coast today. These are the peak wind gusts since midnight reported from the National Weather Service.

KILL DEVIL HILLS, DARE CO. 61mph wind gust
CAPE HATTERAS, DARE CO. 61mph wind gust at 12:22pm
BEAUFORT, CARTERET CO. 60mph wind gust at 11:29am
JACKSONVILLE, ONSLOW CO. 60mph wind gust at 11:55am
NEW RIVER, ONSLOW CO. 59mph wind gust at 12:56pm
OREGON INLET, DARE CO. 58mph wind gust

There were also reports from Hatteras Village of shingles being blown off the roof of a building at Teaches Lair Marina. As a side note from the previous post, Wilmington had a new record low high temperature for the day. This is a 94 year old record. The previous high for the day was 57 degrees set back in 1911. Today's high at the Wilmington Airport was 54 degrees. It was colder in Wilmington than RDU which had 55 degrees today!
