On my last posting I mentioned how the door would be open for tropical moisture to invade our state this week. This looks absolutely true!
Our winds aloft and at the surface will be coming from the Gulf of Mexico over the next few days. This deep moisture transport combined with embedded areas of low pressure aloft coming from the southwest and the heating of the day will enhance the development of showers statewide through Thursday. Once the flow aloft on Friday becomes westerly will we see the shower machine shut off and the heat return.
Since the atmosphere is so chock full of moisture and the showers slow moving, we may see some localized flooding the next few days and definite ponding of water on the roadways.
