...RECORD BREAKING HEAT IN THE FORECAST...

TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO REACH 100 DEGREES AT THE RDU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. THESE TEMPERATURES WILL SET OR BE VERY CLOSE TO RECORD HIGHS FOR EACH DATE.

RECORD HIGH FOR JULY 26: 100 SET IN 1949
FORECAST HIGH FOR JULY 26: 103

RECORD HIGH FOR JULY 27: 100 SET IN 1949
FORECAST HIGH FOR JULY 27: 100

THE LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 100 DEGREES AT THE RDU AIRPORT WAS ON AUGUST 24, 2002, WHEN THE TEMPERATURE ROSE TO 100 DEGREES.

THE RECORD FOR THE MOST CONSECUTIVE DAYS AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES AT THE RDU AIRPORT WAS 4, WHICH OCCURRED FROM AUGUST 20 TO 23 1983.

VERY WARM AND MUGGY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT. NEW RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURES COULD BE SET ON TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND THURSDAY MORNINGS AT THE RDU AIRPORT.

RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 26: 73 SET IN 2004, 1991, 1987, 1981, AND 1945
FORECAST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 26: 76

RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 27: 74 SET IN 1997 AND 1995
FORECAST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 27: 77

RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 28: 75 SET IN 1997, 1993, AND 1952
FORECAST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JULY 28: 74
