Saturday, July 4
Mostly sunny and warmer, but with pleasantly low humidity. Highs in the upper 80s-lower 90s. High pressure that brought a gem of a day on Friday is on its way out so we expect to be warmer this afternoon but still not too uncomfortable. The next storm system is on the horizon and is expected to be with us on Sunday. This afternoon we should notice plenty of high to mid level clouds streaming in from the west and northwest. Any rain from this system should hold off until at least early Sunday. Sunrise: 6:04 a.m., Sunset: 8:34 p.m. Wind: W at 5-10 m.p.h. Saturday night: Increasing clouds and a little warmer. Lows in the upper 60s-lower 70s. Our next storm system is on the way for Sunday but tonight we should only see the clouds increase as it closes in on the state. Winds from the southwest at 5mph.
Sunday, July 5
Mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and storms. Highs in the upper 70s-lower 80s in the northern counties to as warm as the mid-upper 80s from the Triangle area southward including Fayetteville. The next storm system moves into the area today and we may see quite a temperature spread from north to south. The northern counties will likely see more clouds and a better shot at rain so it will be cooler in this location. Southern counties may not see any showers or storms until later in the day so this would allow more time to warm up and have a more unstable atmosphere leading to stronger storms. Showers may remain in the forecast through Monday for southern coastal plain areas. Sunrise: 6:04 a.m., Sunset: 8:34 p.m. Wind: SW at 5-15 m.p.h. Sunday night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of evening storms. Lows in the upper 60s-70. Winds from the north at 5mph.
