— Chilly temperatures started off Sunday morning, but a warming trend will bring highs in the low- to mid-70s for the work week.

Central North Carolina will experience clearing skies through Sunday with temperatures in the mid-60s.

Fair-goers had comfortable conditions through the day, with temperatures dropping into the 50s during the fireworks.

A slow-moving cold front to the west will be held off by a high pressure system to the southeast, allowing for mostly clear skies and pleasant days ahead.

Thursday could bring some showers for trick-or-treaters, with a 40 percent chance of rain in the afternoon and evening, and a high of 75.
