Weather shuts down I-95 near Fayetteville

Interstate 95 was shut down in both directions south of Fayetteville at mile marker 46 (near N.C. Highway 87) Tuesday evening due to multiple weather-related accidents, according to state troopers.

Troopers have not disclosed the extent of any injuries. The highway was reopened at about 8 p.m.

    I was watching the footage on another channel, people were driving way too fast for conditions AND following too close. So yes they caused the closure with their inability to drive appropriately for the conditions.

    All those things can be in check, and accidents will still happen because not all of them are because of a person's inability to drive well or because of bad driving.

    Weather did not close I-95, bad drivers closed it. When will people learn to not drive beyond their ability, maintain a safe speed (but not too slow), make gentle changes in speed/direction and allow a greater following distance? I hope everyone is ok.
