Wayne minister faces sex exploitation charges

A minister in Mount Olive was arrested Tuesday on 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, police said.

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — A minister in Mount Olive was arrested Tuesday on 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, police said.

Timothy Jack Strickland, 41, of 107 E. James St., was being held in the Wayne County jail under a $50,000 bond.

Strickland is a former pastor of Jones Groves Pentecostal Holiness Church near Mount Olive, police said.

He was arrested after local and federal authorities searched his home and seized various items that depicted sexual exploitation of minors, police said.
