GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro homeowner who called 911 to report a break-in in progress blocked the suspects' car from escaping until authorities arrived, the sheriff's office said Wednesday.

The homeowner, whose name was not released, told deputies that he came home to find two men stealing an air conditioning unit from a storage building behind his house, on the 3800 block of Wayne Memorial Drive.

He said he blocked their vehicle until deputies arrived.

Artez Lamont Harris, 22, of 905 S. Audubon Ave., and Yadshae Deshan Jones, 22, of 902-A Herman St., were each charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.

They were taken to the Wayne County jail, where they were placed under $5,000 bonds.
