— A Goldsboro homeowner who called 911 to report a break-in in progress blocked the suspects' car from escaping until authorities arrived, the sheriff's office said Wednesday.

The homeowner, whose name was not released, told deputies that he came home to find two men stealing an air conditioning unit from a storage building behind his house, on the 3800 block of Wayne Memorial Drive.

He said he blocked their vehicle until deputies arrived.

Artez Lamont Harris, 22, of 905 S. Audubon Ave., and Yadshae Deshan Jones, 22, of 902-A Herman St., were each charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.

They were taken to the Wayne County jail, where they were placed under $5,000 bonds.

wow, if they would have been stealing property from my house and I came home...it would not end with me just blocking their vehicle in....I could see my gas pedal getting stuck and heading straight for them!

i'm sure that the jail is "air-conditioned" & the courtroom, the patrol car and the parole office. They probably just wanted a/c somewhere that they didn't have it!!!

yep slap the on the wrist and let them out to commit more crimes. one day they will come up on the wrong person and it will all be over for them. our justice system has gone to pot and has no concern these days for the people these hoodlums continue to scrutinize with their idea of it might be yours but now it is mine for the taking attitude.
