Wayne County man charged with stealing multiple ATVs around county

Authorities arrested and charged a Wayne County man on Feb. 27 with stealing three ATVs from properties around the county near the end of last year.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Authorities arrested and charged a Wayne County man on Feb. 27 with stealing three ATVs from properties around the county near the end of last year.

Dylan Shane Wilburn, 24, was charged with several counts of felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods, felony obtaining property by false pretense and felony break and enter a motor vehicle, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Wilburn was jailed under a $103,500 secured bond.

Authorities said Wilburn stole a Honda 4-wheeler from a property in the northern part of the county, a 4-wheeler from a property in the Rosewood community and a side-by-side ATV from a property in the eastern part of the county. Together, the vehicles were valued at $20,000.

The 4-wheeler stolen from the Rosewood community has not been recovered. The vehicle stolen from the northern part of the county was sold to another person, but it was recovered.

During the investigation, authorities received anonymous information that led to Wilburn.
