Fayetteville, N.C. — Water service was restored to all Fayetteville PWC customers Thursday night after a water main break caused outages and low water pressure throughout the city, according to a utility spokeswoman.
No boil water advisory was issued and water is safe to drink.
The break happened around 7:30 p.m. near the Glenville Lake water treatment plant, at 1368 Belvedere Ave. in Mazarick Park. That plant is one of two water facilities in Fayetteville, so about 50 percent of PWC customers were without full water service for several hours.
The utility provided no information on the exact number of people affected or the cause of the break.
Crews redirected water around the break and were still working to repair the main line as of 10 p.m.
