LILLINGTON, N.C. — Crews rescued two men who were the subject of a search on the Cape Fear River Monday night.

The Harnett County Sheriff's Office said crews were dispatched at 9:58 p.m. to an area near Wildlife Road between Lillington and Erwin, after someone on the boat reported water slowly coming on board.

The boat began to sink, authorities said, but was caught on a rock.

Further details about the rescue were not available early Tuesday morning.
