Water main break creates Henderson sinkhole

Posted April 16, 2010

— A broken water main created a large sinkhole in Henderson Friday morning, authorities said.

The sinkhole on Shirley Drive near Nelson Street measured 12 feet long and was 2½ feet deep, authorities said.

No vehicles became stuck in the sinkhole, but crews had to block off the intersection to repair the water main and fill the hole.

That was no sinkhole - it was the gates of hell opening up! I used to live there for a short while years ago - if it's going to open somewhere - Henderson is the place!
