Water main break closes part of downtown Raleigh street

— Raleigh police had to close part of a downtown Raleigh street Friday morning because of a water main break.

Traffic was diverted on Davie Street at McDowell and Salisbury streets for several hours while crews repaired the 12-inch valve.

City officials did not say what caused the break. There were no significant traffic issues reported.

    Work crews closed down two lanes of S. Blount last night to continue on road re-paving. Lots of jack hammers being used. But who cares really.
