Water main break closes part of downtown Raleigh street

Raleigh police were diverting traffic around a water main break Friday morning that closed Davie Street between McDowell Street and Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police had to close part of a downtown Raleigh street Friday morning because of a water main break.

Traffic was diverted on Davie Street at McDowell and Salisbury streets for several hours while crews repaired the 12-inch valve.

City officials did not say what caused the break. There were no significant traffic issues reported.
