Back by popular demand, here is another post about this weekend's DockDogs competition in Chatham County, just less than an hour from Raleigh.

Last week, I wrote about Carolina DockDogs Club, the state's chapter for DockDogs World, and its plans to host a world qualifying DockDogs event this weekend. (The club had hosted an open practice last weekend.)

DockDogs competitions, which have aired on ESPN, involve dogs competing to be the fastest, highest and longest jumping pooches as they launch themselves into a pool.

According to DockDogs' website, competitions are open to any breed, mix and size of dog. Dogs just must be at least six months old. Their handlers must be at least seven years to practice or compete. DockDogs features three events - Big Air, Speed Retrieve and Extreme Vertical.
Carolina DockDogs' second Bark at Noah's Ark world qualifier runs Friday through Sunday at Indian Creek K9 Aquatics in Goldston. It is free to watch the competition. I'm told these are very family friendly events with kids actually participating along with their four-legged friends.
Because I love seeing pictures of these incredible dogs - and I suspect so do you - check out this image gallery of recent DockDogs events at Indian Creek K9 Aquatics. They come courtesy of photographer Kevin Johnson, who you can also find on Facebook.
