— A Warren County grand jury returned nine indictments of embezzlement and obtaining property by false pretense this week against the former police chief of Warrenton.

John Younts was fired in October after an audit of financial documents revealed "inconsistencies in police department purchases."

He had been Warrenton's police chief since 2007.

This person should have never been made a dog-catcher, much less a Chief. There were some warnings given to the folks in Warrenton prior to his being hired but sometimes lessons are learned the hard way. I wish good luck to his successor in trying to lead this small department after this debacle.

How embarrassing! I wonder how much time he'll get and if he'll have to do community service? Oh and make him pay back every penny with interest. Now that would be funny!
