Warrant: Raleigh man on motorcycle led chase at 115 mph

Raleigh, N.C. — One man was charged Sunday after leading authorities on a two-mile chase through part of Raleigh.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office said that a deputy spotted a motorcycle with no registration at about 10:30 a.m. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
According to an arrest warrant, Stephen Jonathan Brooks, was driving 15 mph over the speed limit on Barrington Drive when the officer attempted to pull him over, prompting Brooks to flee.
Brooks led authorities on a chase for about two miles, reaching a top speed of 115 mph, before jumping off the motorcycle and running.
Brooks was arrested at 7109 Stangler Springs Drive after a brief foot chase.
Brooks, 26, of 3324 Derbyshire Place, was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, operating a vehicle without a license, speeding and careless and reckless driving.
