Raleigh, N.C. — The September shooting death of a 24-year-old on Capital Boulevard was a drug deal gone wrong, according to search warrants.
Officers found Troy Jacobs with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle at 4413 Capital Boulevard at about 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 21.
The search warrant said Jacobs met Shyhem Juvon Wilkerson and Christopher Royster for the purpose of a drug transaction and both men got into Jacobs’ vehicle. The men produced handguns, robbed Jacobs and shot him multiple times, the warrant said.
A search of Jabocbs’ phone led authorities to Wilkerson, who confessed to his involvement in the incident.
Wilkerson was arrested on Sept. 27 and charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
