Warmth brings chance for spring storms

Posted April 17, 2013

— High temperatures in the 80s over the next couple of days bring the chance for afternoon storms, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

Wednesday's high is forecast to top the 80-degree mark before a weak cool front swoops down from the north that could trigger showers or storms. The pattern continues for Thursday and Friday, with the greater chance of storms coming Friday afternoon and evening.

After Friday's front, weekend looks significantly cooler, with highs only in the mid-60s.

I have to say, jblake, that your powers of prognostication are truly amazing. To be able to tell on Wednesday that a Friday forecast is wrong - WOW, I wish I had that kind of talent.

If one looks REAL close, one can see a small green dot indicating a small drop of rain about 60 miles North of the state line. HA HA, I guess the forecast is wrong again, huh? Keep trying guys, it gets better after a few decades. SMH.

It doesn't look like tha rain is going to make it here if you've watched the radar over the past few hours.

"Rain in the Northern counties and near 95 corridor". Well, as of now, the rain is in the mountains and West of the Triangle. No development in the near future North of the Triangle. Forecasting has got to improve to compete in this area. SSMH.
