Showers possible on cloudy, warm Sunday

Mist and fog could develop overnight, but temperatures will remain mild, falling to 50 degrees by early Sunday.

Daytime highs will climb to near 70 degrees Sunday afternoon as the cold front approaches from the west. Clouds will increase during the day, and isolated storms are possible by late Sunday evening. 

"The main threat with these storms will be strong winds," Wilmoth said. "We will have to see if this front says together as it crosses the mountains."

Showers will linger during the first half of the day Monday as the front passes through the central part of the state. On Monday afternoon, however, skies will quickly begin to clear as temperatures climb into the low 70s. 

"We will clear out and then cool off quickly behind this approaching front," Wilmoth said. "We'll drop down into the low 40s Monday night and then see highs in the mid-50s Tuesday."

The cooling will continue on Wednesday, when highs will struggle to top 50 degrees. Overnight lows will return to below normal, as well, dropping into the 30s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
