Jgibson2, I do know the meaning of the word but I can't say that conviction always means guilt. No more than I can say that acquittal always means innocence.

According to most research, Mary was around 15 win she married Joseph and gave birth to Jesus. Chivegas is right; it is a cultural issue. As for ABD and "Once a sex offender, always a sex offenders", I sincerely hope never pee in public...you might be a sex offender, too. There are a lot of things that can get you on the offender list. Only a small portion of offenders are actual child molesters.

"A 20 year old with a 15 year old is not normal..." Perhaps not in US culture, but this is quite common and accepted in some other countries.

It is apparent you know the law as it relates to indecent liberties with a child. Do you know the meaning of the word CONVICTED?

He should have known better than to go to a Krispy Kreme to get a morning doughnut.

This could have been a 20-yr-old with a 15-yr-old...don't be so quick to judge not knowing the merits of the case. Yes, he broke the law but so have a lot of other young men in love with 15-year-old girls.

Indecent Liberties with a Child –
A defendant is guilty of taking indecent liberties with a child if, being at least 16 years of age and five years older than the child in question, he either:

willfully commits or attempts to commit any immoral, improper, or indecent liberties with any child, male or female, under the age of 16 for the purpose of arousing or gratifying sexual desire; or
willfully commits or attempts to commit any lewd or lascivious act upon the body or any part of the body of any child, male or female, under the age of 16.
