Cary, N.C. — All lanes of Walnut Street reopened shortly before 4:40 p.m. Monday, about three hours after a single-vehicle fatal wreck.
Christopher George Rendano, 36, of Wilmington, was killed when the car he was riding in hit a tree at Walnut Street and Greenwood Circle, police said. Driver Ronald Anthony Venezia Jr., 43, of Raleigh, was injured and listed in serious condition Monday evening at Wake Med.
Walnut Street was closed between Sturdivant Drive and Nottingham Drive while police investigated the wreck.
