Walmart offers new produce 100% guarantee

Posted June 4, 2013

Walmart is offering a new 100% guarantee on their produce and you don't even need to bring back the produce! According to the Walmart website, if you are not completely satisfied with your Walmart produce purchase, you can bring back the receipt and get a full refund. You don't even have to bring back the questionable produce!

Progressive Grocer indicates that they are making changes to the entire produce department and have set a goal to "double their sales of locally grown produce by December 2015."

Do you buy produce at Walmart?

I very rarely buy produce from Walmart, most of the time it doesn't look fresh!!

I have also stopped buying produce after having to through away inedible produce twice. In a couple weeks I will check out my local Walmart to see if there is a difference. I like price matching produce using the Aldi ad but only if it is edible. Lately, HT and Food Lion have had good produce prices and I have been pleased with the quality.

I agree with all the comments. Walmart's produce is not the best there is but I eat ALOT of produce, especially fruit so price matching makes it easier for me to buy more. I have also found that if I freeze the things that can be frozen, it does help it last a bit longer :)

Sounds good! Due to bad experiences, I don't shop at Walmart any more, but I'm glad people will be getting good product, and local!

I haven't bought produce at WM in almost 2 years. Three trips in a row and everything was bad within a day. Then I had trouble getting refunds on it so I stopped shopping there.

They must have caught on that their produce stinks. I buy some of the packaged items but that's it.

I'll have to check it out.

This sounds good, but I really don't like walmarts produce. It goes bad quickly and is usually pretty bruised and mess up.

This is great! I do not buy anything at Aldis because I am not close to one but I do take their sale paper to Walmart and price match their produce so this will be awesome if they improve their produce! I don't shop Walmart often but when I do, I make sure to do this for any produce I plan to buy.
