In early June, many Walmart stores across the country will stop matching prices at the register.

According to CouponsInTheNews.com, beginning June 9, 2016, approximately 500 Walmart locations will be ending the ad-match policy in stores. You will no longer be able to price match sales from other stores using the competitor's ad at the register.

Instead, Walmart has indicated that they will be lowering prices throughout the store.

My local Walmart indicated that they will no longer be offering in-store ad matching as of June 9.

The Savings Catcher price match program will continue. If a local competitor offers a lower advertised price on an item you purchased at Walmart, the Savings Catcher program allows you to get back the difference on a Walmart Rewards eGift Card. You basically get a rebate for the price match. To get the price match rebate, you must submit your receipt to Savings Catcher from your computer or the Walmart app. If they find a lower price in the competitor sales ads, they will give you the amount you overpaid. The money goes in to your Savings Catcher account and you can cash it out for a printable Walmart gift card at any time. See all the details at their website.
