Fishel: Most get through Wednesday without seeing rain

Dew points were in the mid-70s Tuesday, creating an atmosphere for storms, but WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said that those numbers will be reduced, providing some relief from the humidity Wednesday.

“There are some indications that tomorrow afternoon, the dew points could drop into the mid-60s,” he said. “I think many of you could get through tomorrow without seeing much, if any, in the way of rain."

Although the region may see a break from the humidity, the heat will get more intense as the week goes on. Fishel said this weekend could bring the hottest temperatures of the summer, with forecast highs of 97 and 99 for Saturday and Sunday respectively.

“I didn’t want to put the 100 up there because it would have made me too depressed,” Fishel said of the forecast.
