Brief scare secures buildings at Wake Tech
Students at Wake Tech's main campus off U.S Highway 401 were told to remain indoors Friday afternoon for just under an hour while police investigated the report of a person with a weapon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Students at Wake Tech's main campus off U.S Highway 401 were told to remain indoors Friday afternoon for just under an hour while police investigated the report of a person with a weapon.
A college spokeswoman said the campus was not officially locked down. Laurie Clowers called the action a "shelter in place."
She said campus police received a tip just after 5 p.m. They gave the all clear about 50 minutes later.
