RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County sheriff's deputy has been temporarily reassigned after being cited over the weekend for driving while impaired.

Antonio McNair, 28, was cited Sunday for the alleged offense as well as making an improper turn in Carteret County, according to court records.

McNair's license has been revoked for 30 days, and he is scheduled to appear in court in Carteret County Aug. 21.

Capt. Jimmy Stevens, a spokesman for the Wake County Sheriff's Office, said McNair has been transferred from his position in Courthouse Operations to Communications.

McNair was hired as a deputy sheriff May 1, Stevens said.
