Wake schools could add use of drones to legislative agenda

Cary, N.C. — The Wake County Public School System might push for change in laws against flying drones.
The issue is on a draft of a proposed legislative agenda for next year that the Board of Education will consider next month.
Earlier this month, the Federal Aviation Administration sent a letter to Green Hope High School in Cary, where a student club was using an unmanned aircraft to broadcast football games on the Internet.
The FAA cited regulations that limit the use of unmanned aircraft over large crowds.
The matter is just a staff recommendation and has not been finalized on the agenda.
