Thanks Not_So_Dumb. They should make another category for special needs programs. Just call it as such. I wouldn't want to be called an "other".

The "other" students are those in the special needs programs that don't follow the traditional grade structure.

    Exactly what are "other" students?

ah, but THIS headline doesn't tell you ALL of teh story. From the N&O Education page, MUCH more realiable than wral's stats!

"Wake's first-day numbers are now out and they show there's a long way to go to reach the projected enrollment.

Wake says there were 131,621 students in school on Monday — 4,269 more than the first day in 2007. Wake would need to gain 7,626 students by Day 20 to reach the revised projection of 139,247 students.

Since Wake gained 6,650 students between Day 1 and Day 20 last year, it would be pretty hard to reach projections this year."

Sounds to me like they just continue to spin and lie at the school system PR factory.

Wake Up Wake County, this current educrat bunch are TOTAL liars and for the life of me I JUST DON'T GET IT! All for diversity??

The truth shall set you free Del and Dulaney, Rosa and Patti ...

Until it does NO BONDs for you!

I wonder if this is going to be another year of "failing to meet the estimates." Wasn't the board just screaming about how they would be underfunded while trying to serve over 8,000 new students?

And, where is the other 5,000? Just proof that you can't believe anything this school board says.

  • Not_So_Dumb Aug 26, 2008

Weren't they call for over 5000? Of course, the bigger the estimate, the bigger the bond they can ask for!

I wonder how many of these students are "undocumented immigrants".
My children must show proof of residency and immunizations , I wonder if this is also enforced on "undocumented children".
