WCPSS is a joke... Why not take the early release's or the teacher workdays to use as make up days? My kids will be at school on the make up days but I still think WCPSS don't know their elbows from a hole in the ground. What a bunch of dopes Democrats and Republicans.

I just read this. The MAKE-UP day tomorrow has been cancelled!?!? It was 50 degrees today, right?
Time for a revolt at WCPSS headquarters! (OR at least a peaceful protest!) This is getting out of hand.

Tomorrow's makeup day has been rescheduled. Does that means the roads still aren't good enough... View More

Tomorrow's makeup day has been rescheduled. Does that means the roads still aren't good enough after nearly a week?

They also got rid of the 5/31 makeup day that was after Track 1 ended.

When my family moved to Raleigh in 1966, we head been here 2 days when 9" of snow came followed by 4" more 3 days later. We were out of school for 5 days.

To make this up, we went for 3 straight Saturdays in March. I hated it!!

If choices must be made-spring break or Saturdays, wow that's tough!! In my humble opinion, families need spring break!! Do Saturdays!!

Don't blame me if I don't want to have my taxes increased for schools or I don't vote for a school bond. If schools are open and the kids are not sick it is the parent's responsibility to get them there. Don't come to me for more money for schools, teachers etc. if you are not going to send your kids to the schools when they are open.

"For those of you saying your child won't go to school on Saturday, it's your child's loss."

No it's not, they don't do anything except watch movies. No lunch, no learning, half the kids missing.

    Yeah, some loss that is.

For those of you saying your child won't go to school on Saturday, it's your child's loss. Hopefully the kids will think more of their education than some of the parents do. The kids had four days to go to the park or at least get out and play in the snow, now back to the real world.

Where do you build in school days for year round school? The only days available would be to take days away from the holiday weeks. All other days are already school days.

Simple fix...build in snow days, and extend the school year a bit. The summer vacation is way too long for the kids anyway. WCPSS is too large; it would make more sense to break it down anyway.

It's time to divide up Wake County into multiple school districts. We have gotten too big and there are parts that could have easily gone back to school today. Who do we talk to in order to get this discussion started?
