— A Wake County school bus taking students to Millbrook High School was involved in a wreck Tuesday morning near the intersection of North New Hope Road and Corporation Parkway, Raleigh police said.

Emergency crews responded to the scene about 6:45 a.m. after the bus collided with a car. The car's front end was pinned underneath the right side of the bus.

No injuries were reported, and authorities did not release any information about the cause of the wreck.

Authorities investigated four wrecks Monday involving Wake County school buses.

I'm just surprised that Wake co can do anything at all with the schools the way they are. It is the laughing stock of the state and country truth be known!

They need to keep the busses off 540 during rush hour

As long as the republican majority is not in charge, no one cares. My kids won't ride the bus because it usually doesn't show up and complaints do little. Then it's over a half mile away.

{{Take 2}} maybe this will make it.....

On the way home today I saw a school bus RUN A RED LEFT TURN LIGHT! No the light didn't turn red after the bus started the turn, it was solid red BEFORE the turn. Had I thought for one second the bus would run it I would have noted the bus number and called. WHAT is wrong with these drivers?

Wake county bus drivers, I appreciate what you do, and how well you do it.
    Thanks

    That didn't take long...

I've been there, done that.... Drove a school bus for 6 years, and in training, they teach you all the factors of driving, the yelling kids, distractions, both on bus and the road, ya almost feel as thou you need eyes all around your head, but this is what is taught to every driver and then they get out on the road, and what they learned, just flew out the window, I have no respect for drivers who have an at fault accident, should of never taken the job. It's not a piece of cake. ( I don't drive a school bus now because of health reasons)

Nobody wants to see or hear about a school bus accident but if you stop and think about it wake county has 930 buses running and with the motoring public trying to get to work or what ever we will have more accidents if we don't yeild to the big yellow bus.....

Two causes of driver distraction: loud, excited young people riding the bus and frazzled adults rushing to drive around buses to avoid having to stop behind pickups."

Yep. I don't envy these bus drivers one bit. It's not as easy as it looks.
