RALEIGH, N.C. — First-quarter report cards for most Wake County public school students will be delayed a week because of computer problems, district officials said Wednesday.

Traditional-calendar students who were supposed to get report cards on Monday instead will receive them Nov. 12.

In a letter to parents, officials said an “unanticipated software outage” in the statewide computer system is to blame for the delay, preventing teachers from entering grades and keeping schools from printing report cards.

The software provider has been working on a fix.

Other districts that use the software have not reported plans to delay report cards.
