FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — A Fuquay-Varina man on probation for assault convictions faces fresh accusations that he assaulted a 9-month-old baby and a woman, according to an arrest warrant.

Francis Joseph Fazchas, 45, of 605 Ashley Lane, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor child abuse, assault on a child under age 12 and assault on a female.

The warrant states that Fazchas threw a 9-month-old boy against a wall, giving him a laceration and large bruise on his forehead. Fazchas pushed a woman into the wall and bit her left breast, the warrant states.

Fazchas was placed in the Wake County jail and denied bond while under a 48-hour domestic violence hold. If he is released on bond later, he is ordered to have no contact with the woman or boy, court records state.

His first court appearance was set for Aug. 1.

Fazchas is serving two years' probation for June 2010 convictions for assault on a female and assault on a child, according to state Department of Correction records. He also has convictions for driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license.
