I know someone who had they car damaged way worse than this and they called the perp to ask if he did it. When he said "NO". They ended up giving a fine to the complaintant for other issues. Thanks officer - I'll make sure NOT to call you in the future.

Maybe someone keyed a car because it had an Obama/Biden sticker on it, for a change?

I'm glad to see that efforts are being made to apprehend the villain. Seriously.

But somehow I have the feeling that the victimized vehicle's owner has somewhat more influence than the average citizen.

Maybe a followup story would be as interesting after a little investigation into how this made headlines with a video surveillance image.

if this happened in raleigh, folks would be saying well that place is ghetto anyway. but since they are finally reporting crimes in the well to do areas, well lets say it is a different song.

Whoop-dee-dee-do! I KNOW that I COULD NOT get through my day without this information! Are they going to start reporting people backing into others people's cars now? What about stealing things from unlocked cars? Oh yeah...what about shopping carts bumping into cars??

Someone scratched a car in a parking lot? Hey, while you're at it, why not take on the door dingers at Triangle Town Center?

Well, the owner of the car shouldn't have had a McCain/Palin sticker on the bumper! :-/
