Wake Forest man killed in head-on collision

Bernardo Garcia Murillo, 29, of Wake Forest, was killed in a head-on collision in northern Wake County on April 5, 2016.

— A Wake Forest man died Tuesday morning in a collision in northern Wake County, authorities said.

Bernardo Garcia Murillo, 29, was westbound in an Acura sedan on Rock Spring Church Road near Rogers Quarters Road when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, the State Highway Patrol said. A Ford pickup was eastbound on Rock Spring Church Road at the same time, and the pickup and the Acura collided head on.

Murillo was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver, Steven Edward Piotrowski, 44, of Creedmoor, suffered minor injuries.

No charges will be filed in the case.
