WAKE FOREST, N.C. — In a call to 911 Sunday afternoon a man told a dispatcher, “I just shot somebody in my house.”

Wake County sheriff's deputies responded 3 Kelly Pine Court in Wake Forest after the call to find Jaquelyn Larue Gore, 48, dead from a gunshot wound.

They arrested Leslie Edward Smith, 62, charging him with Gore’s murder. Smith said the two lived together at that address.

In the 911 call, released Tuesday, Smith said, “I shot her point-blank.”

When the dispatcher tried to talk Smith through the process of CPR, he muttered, "This is ridiculous. I just shot her."
