Wake Forest house fire injures man

Posted September 28, 2011

— An accident during car repairs sparked a house fire that burned a Wake Forest man Tuesday evening, firefighters said.

Randy Meares set up a light to see while he was replacing a fuel pump on his vehicle in his garage at 5209 Trophy Trail around 5 p.m., Wake Forest Assistant Fire Chief David Davis said. The fuel pump fell on the light, igniting a fire.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the garage, but Meares was burned, Davis said.

He was in fair condition at the North Carolina Jaycees Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill Wednesday morning.

Authorities said no foul play is suspected. An estimate of damage to the house hasn't been completed.

I had the exact same reaction when my husband (the injured man's son) showed me this article. I was astonished that such personal information would be released. Even my 13 year old questioned the placement of a map and the exact location.

It's funny WRAL can do a property search to tell us information we didn't want to know (man's name) but they can't do research on other stories that we actually want to know information about. (i.e. Angel Food Ministries scandal)

I agree totally!!! Why is there any need to put the person's name and address on there? Then they always have to go and put a map to the address too. Why??? Come on. Did you ever hear of 'too much information'...
