Wake Forest hospital worker accused of embezzling patient money

Posted July 17, 2012

— A former employee of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center was charged Tuesday with stealing $114,000 in patient refund checks, police said.

Steven Byron Tisdale, 43, of 6000 Fairfield Oaks Lane in Pfafftown, was charged with embezzlement over $100,000.

Hospital administrators asked Winston-Salem police in April to investigate the alleged theft.

Investigators determined that Tisdale, who had worked for the hospital for 17 years, had cashed 219 checks between January and March that were intended to go to patients due refunds on their bills, police said.

The headline, @allinfantsareatheists, the headline. That's what is meant to draw in the reader. Plus, it is labeled as a local story when it is not.

Would make a fine member of state government. Steal from the poor and tell them what great things they are doing with the money.

It is absolutely astounding that people presumably astute enough to use personal computers not only fail to grasp basic reporting of facts, but then insist that everybody else be informed of their mind-boggling ignorance. There is nothing confusing, misleading, or lacking in this piece.

@37, do you comprehend what you read? If so, why do you blame others for your ineptitude?

    WRAL is reporting the facts:

1- Mr. Tisdale lives at 6000 Fairfield Oaks Lane in Pfafftown.

2- He worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

If you have a problem with the name of hospital or you didn't Google Pfafftown, NC how is that anyone else's problem but yours?

Oh, Wake Forest UNIVERSITY. I get it now. This site strikes (out) again...

He isn't from Wake Forest and the hospital isn't in Wake Forest. The headline is misleading.
