RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Board of Elections is experiencing an extremely high volume of voter registration and updates – more than 25,000 since Oct. 1, officials said.
Processing that volume of applications was expected to cause a delay in mailing some voter registration cards. Cards are not required to vote.

Voters who registered to vote or sent in an update prior to the Oct. 10 deadline will be processed and voter cards will be mailed prior to the election.
