Raleigh, N.C. — A traffic checkpoint in southeast Raleigh overnight Friday netted 90 charges and citations, including 17 for driving while impaired, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office.
A task force comprised of the sheriff's office and eight other law enforcement agencies conducted the checkpoint at South New Hope Church Road and South Rodgers Lane from 11 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday.
In addition to DWI charges, four people were cited for other alcohol violations, 28 for driving without a license, and 17 for driving with a revoked license, authorities said. Officers confiscated three vehicles from drivers with previous DWI convictions whose licenses had been revoked.
As well, officers arrested three people on outstanding warrants and charged one person with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, authorities said.
