Wake magnet schools help define students' smarts

We have two events this Saturday that feature some of the region's magnet schools.

If you're in Wake or Durham county and are contemplating a magnet school for your child, these are great events to go to to learn more about the schools and programs (though I'll add that nothing replaces an actual visit to a school).

Here are the details:

Wake County schools' magnet fair is 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, 2600 Rock Quarry Rd. All of the system's magnet and application elementary, middle and high schools will be represented. Check Wake schools' website for more.
Durham's magnet fair is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, 800 Clayton Rd. Click here for more information.
