Wake deputies investigate SUV found in pond

Deputies with the Wake County Sheriff's Office are looking for the person who may have been involved in a wreck that left a 2004 Ford Excursion in a pond near Knightdale.

Deputies responded to an accident report Wednesday just before 9:30 a.m. at Massey Farm Road near Split Farm Trail. When they arrived, they found the SUV with no one inside.

    What a crying shame, especially if it was a diesel. Best tow vehicle ever made. Diesel version gets 16MPG city/20 MPG highway when not towing. I plan to keep mine for a LOOOONG time.

    I love my Excursion - it has better Co2 emissions than my 4 banger Ranger!
