Wake deputies arrest Maryland fatal robbery suspect

Wake County deputies on Saturday arrested a Maryland man accused of fatally shooting a man during a November armed robbery, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County deputies on Saturday arrested a Maryland man accused of fatally shooting a man during a November armed robbery, according to arrest warrants.

Dominic Carl Givens, 20, of Hyattsville, Md., faces a slew of charges, including first-degree murder, armed robbery and assault. 

Authorities say he and an accomplice held up six people at gunpoint. When one of the victims rushed them, Givens shot and killed him, warrants state.

He then fled to North Carolina, authorities said. 

Givens was being held Saturday in the Wake County jail awaiting extradition to Prince Georges County in Maryland.
