DUI's need to be prosecuted as a violent crime, with jail time, 1st offense.

I noticed someone said this " was she driving a bus at the time ", It's poor thinking like that that makes me drive my kid to and from school.I choose not to allow my kids to be at the mercy someone that used poor thinking to affect his life !

It's poor judgment from posters like this that get rumors started. If you had read the story, the woman was arrested at 11:35 PM Not many children I know go to school at 11 PM.

Read the story before acting holier than thou.

hondaman....I concur with you but you have to realize who the powers are to be. The enforcers of the law needs to be monitored by the citizens somehow. HP's drinking and driving and get just a slap on the wrist if anything. But just when I have expired tags, no insurance, fictitious license plate they want to give me a ticket and when I miss my court date they send the cops to arrest me. The justice system is really screwd up.

Do we expect more from the bus drivers than we do law enforment? Rememeber the police office driving 85 mph in a 45 zone and he was tested for alcohol and he was not even given a ticket? And the HP contacted his suspevisor and the two of them-- together-- decided not to issue even a warning ticket?

When I was in school our bus drivers were drunk all the time. Sometimes they would let us drive the bus. Especially on field trips. We had so much fun in school back in the days. When I was in school the students were allowed to drive the bus. Sometimes we would even take the bus out on Saturday nite and go to a club. Oh man I miss those days.

I have been a public school teacher in North Carolina and Florida for the past seven years. I have been randomly selected for drug testing in both states. Teachers are tested at random in most school systems. I just wanted to clear that up for HopSkipJump.

    What a shame.

In reference to some comments above, bus drivers are tested for drugs before and during employment. Teachers are not.
